The term has well and truly kicked off now and we’ve gotten to the stage of designing our first necklace pendant (which I will make everything from scratch!) and deciding on the techniques and materials to be used, which is super exciting! As part of our concept for the design, we had to choose a sculpture and decide on the predominant element and principle evident in the sculpture. I love Roy Lichtenstein’s work, so I chose a piece created by him.
I’ve been busy making paper/cardboard prototypes of my proposed pendant design and just today, I discussed with my teachers about using wood (ebony?) and sterling silver as my main materials for the piece.
I can’t wait to make a start on it next week, what do you guys think?
